How to clean windows? - A monkey can do it!
Very good video explanation, first time changing mine out and you helped me so much. Thank you!
You mean I don't need to spend a bunch of money on window cleaners, micro fiber towels, clay bars, steel wool, and whatever else the professionals use?!! Just a rag, some dish soap and water, and a squeegee? Sounds pretty simple! I've also used a window cleaner and newspaper. Works good too.
Outstanding! And I thought I was good.
Thanks for watching. 😉
Best wisdom in the country coming from this guy!
I noticed that when you pre-roll the mesh into the channel, it seems to "stay put" which creates a nice flat, evenly tensioned mesh. But when I do this step, the mesh flops right out of the channel. It doesn't stay put. Then when I press in the spline, I get uneven, loose sections. Are you using a mesh that has a "memory" to stay in the channel during the pre-rolling step? Or perhaps your frame channel has "teeth" that grab the mesh?
sometimes you get lucky and the frame groove allows for the mesh to sit still in there. Other times you'll need to hold your hand flat on top of the mesh to keep it still and go slower, checking more frequently to see if it's puckering. A pain I know but it is what it is.
What an awesome tip for the four corner pieces! Btw, you made that look WAY too easy. Thanks for taking the time to post the video. Most helpful.
Hello, I've been looking for the R O membrane Fittings and hoses Can you semd me a link
I also love using vinegar and warm water to clean the mirrors and windows with
Thank you for Sharing good info
Awesome video, thank you! One note: I found that the new Unger Pole Locking Cone Tip is so snug the wiper blade attachment and microfiber brush would not slide down far enough to engage the locking mechanism. So, I shaved a little of the plastic off on each ridge using a box cutter. After that I could get the brush down far enough (though still plenty snug!). Regarding the Unger wiper blade handle, I had to cut out the rubber handle so as to see the hole and drill it out so the plastic locking mechanism would fit . . . after that, all good. A quality product all around!
Is just a DI as good as those 3+4 stage systems???
Good question that I get asked a lot. DI exists on every multi stage system as the last filter because it is the filter media that can get the water to 100% pure. The RO membranes usually can reduce the TDS (total dissolved solids, minerals) down by 95% on average when new. The purpose of the RO membrane(s) is to act as a prefilter for the DI so the DI last longer. If you are in a low TDS area, then “DI only” makes perfect sense. But if in a high TDS area or needing to use the system daily, then pre filtering the mineral content will allow you save on DI media cost. RO membranes although expensive, can last for a few years. Now, the RO membrane needs to be protected from harm such as chlorine and any other junk (rust, dirt, sludge) floating around in the source water line. So often a carbon filter and sediment filter will be placed before the RO. To wrap up, in a perfect world where we all had lower TDS levels, a DI system would reign supreme.
Thank you so much for this helpful advice. I do not even get my mirrors clean without streaks and always thought I only need to find the right blue window cleaning liquid and will succeed some day. I did my large kitchen windows inside and outside like you showed it and the result was perfect. 🙏🌻
Great to hear!
When I have pushed on that rubber spleen I tear the screen sometimes! I have never been able to put it on like that, sigh!
Are you using a a spline tool with metal wheels or nylon? I prefer nylon. The cheapest tools are usually low quality plastic/metal and tend to rip the mesh. Nylon wheels or higher quality metal wheels work best.
@@WCSkills Yes I was. I buy screen that is old style you know made of aluminum I think! Only because I have pets that like to climb on the.
This is not a good video. I just tore out the metal screen on my 10 year old patio and it was as strong as it was 10 years ago.
Being almost furious/desperate after my 5th attempt at the same glass I will try this out right away, thank you so much!
A lot of window cleaner scrub the frames and glass but just rinse the glass, not the frames. Is that the correct method, or do you find the frame needs a rinse?
Really a judgement call. If the frames and area above the window is very dirty or the frames have oxidization, then rinsing the frames is a really good idea, then you can concentrate on the glass.
Thanks 👍 I was just interested because I've been rinsing all frames, and it's taking me a long time to clean, and I've been using a lot of water whereas other window cleaners I know also do their round monthly, don't rinse the frame but seem to achieve the same results a lot more efficiently
I have done this for over 20 years and it truly works the best of anything I have ever tried!!
Thanks
What a smart video! 👍

This video is right on. Follow his instructions and your project will turn out wonderfully. This video is unlike others that I watched where it was obvious they had NO idea what they were talking about. 10 stars out of possible 5. Well done.
Hey, thanks for positive comments.
Great addition to the brush.
Excellent! I’m going to order this one. Thank you for this informative video!!
Hold down pieces. Genious! Great vid.
I did 2 today on my house, have about 10 more to do. Im here because my frames bowed inward. Its looks like I need to create a little slack with my fingers ahead of the roller?
Yes, it’s a bit of an art form. You don’t want to end up with puckering so just the right amount of slack ahead of the roller.
If someone can't figure this out, they have bigger problems.
I really appreciate how clear and concise you were in your demonstration. Drives me nuts when I need to see how to do something and people waste my time. Thank you
Thanks for your nice comment, Joshua
Great video!!!
Thanks, Steve. ;-)
Thank u
Thank you so much those were some very great tips and instructions of doing a screen replacement I'm getting ready for my first time and I will follow what you just explained in your video, especially the safety tip with the trimming of the screen while using the utility knife.
Good luck with your screen job. 👍
Number 4. This really made me think, beacause the waterfed pole kept leaving "watermarks" so i figured the "pure" water wasnt pure enough even going through filters. But this might be it. I will always prefer a skylift tho
Thank you! I was about to board up my windows! Thank you!!!
My company is torn on getting a wsp machine xero pure for out door windows. What do you think? Eliminate sqeege process?
It can certainly speed things up. Keep in mind that the quality is equal to using a T bar scrubber and a squeegee but if you’re someone who finds you need other trad tools a lot like metal scrapers, steel wool or chemicals on most of your jobs, the water fed pole won’t match. But for regaular window cleaning, it’s great!
OCD much?
Thanks...
I struggled cleaning windows and have always use the blue stuff because I didn’t know any different. I used your technique and it worked perfectly. It was so easy and works amazingly… I love doing them now. I can’t believe that I’m almost 70 and I had no idea how to clean windows properly. Thanks.
Awesome, love it!
Is this handheld available on Amazon?
Wouldn't you get no streaks if you wiped up and down or side by side? Why so technical? Its a simple wax on wax off?
No wax 😉. Wiping gives you false hope that you removed everything off the glass but you haven’t. Some of the dirt and cleaner solution has just dried on the glass surface, waiting to reveal itself once the sun shines at the right angle. My video is technical because it shows the professional method use by those (myself included for several years) and charging for professional results.
This is the screen repair video to use. He's got it right. Some others have bad advice.
Thanks for the kind words.
I followed all your recommendations but i am still getting low output after the RO. I have even replaced the RO membrane. To add, when I use the 2 pencil jets brush, it shoots out about 2 ft but once I change it to the 4 jets, it only shoots out about 4 inches. Any help is appreciated. I have the 4 stage tucker.
Does your system have a pressure gauge on it? Ideally you want to see around 60psi going in. Are you on city tap pressure, rural, well? Also, I know Tucker usually supplies 50ft of pure water tube, I hope you’re not using that to go from the tap to the cart…should be a proper garden hose, 5/8” hose or bigger.
@@WCSkills No pressure gauge. Maybe I could buy a pressure tester? I was using a garden hose and connected it to the 3/8 yellow hose that came with the tucker. I am in the city and so I'm getting above 4gpm from the tap. Maybe I will start to use just the garden hose.
@@brolysgaming1756 Hi, as per Tucker manual, the yellow hose included is meant to connect to the output of the Tucker system, and then on that you connect the pole hose. ( tap >> garden hose >> system >> 3/8" yellow hose >> pole hose >> brush) hope this helps.
I have a question? My pole leaves streaks on the sides and tops of the windows, near the frames. But the bottom and the whole middle windows are good. Anybody know how to fix that? Do I need to spend more time scrubbing it or watering it down when I’m done?
yes, scrub more around the frame longer and rinse more. Sometimes windows still have residue like silicone around the edge making that area hydrophobic so needs a tad more rinsing.
A wet mr clean magic eraser is great to use to get the oils off the inside of the windshield before you wash it.
Great tip!
What's your website call sr
What is liquid name you use first sir ?
Water and a drop of dish soap. 😊
Great video. I was using well water 488ppm and my booster pump shoots water 2.5 to 3ft out of brush. I was shocked to discover I went through .pp2ppm to .026 after 25 min of continual use. Should I tien down pump or use ball valve to slow down flow?
Yes, that’s way too much water than needed and too fast through the filter.
I should have watched this before I installed my aluminum screen. I picked up new spline but I didn't remove the frame first. I didn't have a screen roller.i used a utility knife without the blade.... lots of poking - horrible job!!! the screen is all wavy. Come over and redo it please! 😂
😀
Great video! I need to replace mt storm door screen. Could I do that without removing it from the doorframe (while it's hanged)?
yes you can, that's where using the small pc's of hold down spline to pin it into place will come in handy. Happy Screening!
